I'm a 30 year old transmasc non-binary person. I saw the movie Atlantis: The Lost Empire when I was 7 in the theater. My dad's dad had just died, and we weren't all that close. But, it really helped me to see Milo process the death of his own grandfather at the time. I think Atlantis came out about a year(?) after my dad's dad died? Anyway, I really always related to Milo even if I couldn't understand why at the time. (Now I get it.) I just watched the movie again because I wanted to, and my toddler watched bits and pieces with me while we shared some tea. They watched me *bawl.* My mom's dad, though we never got to talk about the fullness of my experience before he died a little less than two years ago, was the only family member who just understood me with no words. He never knew my name or pronouns - so he never used them. But, he got *me.* His yard was where I could climb trees, feed birds, roughhouse, and do all the "forbidden boyish" stuff. I watched Robin Hood and The Sorcerer's Stone in his living room. I built towers up to the ceiling. I got to read Frankenstein on his porch when I was in the seventh grade. I'm pretty sure my first unabridged copy of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries was purchased for me by him. He was basically my dad or second-dad. Later, he would listen to me talk about my papers, my poems, and my stories and, in turn, I'd listen to the latest of his research in biophysics, when he was still a researcher, or I'd listen to him explain, in layman's terms, the newest experiments he would read about after he stopped doing his own stuff. These were our lost civilizations and genuine arrowheads. When Mr. Whitmore handed Milo the Shepherd's Journal and said the line "Our lives are marked by the gifts we leave our children, and this is your grandfather's gift to you." My own kid was pillowed on my shoulder. I heard that line at 7. I cried in the theater because it's sad. You don't have to have lived the line for it be sad. I needed to learn loss young so I could feel loss better older. Because, now? That line collapsed on me like a ton of bricks, but I didn't get crushed by those bricks. I had a hard hat and padding to protect me. Like I said, my grandfather was like my dad. He's not coming back. But, he has given me so much. He has left me so much, and I get to decide what I want to leave to my own kid someday. I get to decide what world, what legacy, and what I leave for my own child. Because, it wasn't just the journal that Thaddeus left for Milo. It was the values that allowed Milo to remain steadfast when standing up to people physically stronger than him. I remember that right now. Especially right now. It's not just the intellectual gifts my grandfather left me. It's the tenacity. It's the love. It's protectiveness. It's the gentleness. It's the grace. It's the desire to be curious. It's the *need* to know. It's quiet faith. It's the desire to do justice. It's the desire to see peace for the next generation. It's the desire to listen to all sides of an argument before saying my own piece while also knowing when things have gone way too far and need to be shut down. It's knowing when and how to give people space to grow in their own way and time. Because, while everyone else in my family was forcing me into dresses, my grandfather was letting me climb trees in jeans and sneakers. He also didn't bat an eyelash when I cut my hair off my junior year of high school. So, he may not be here. But, he lives in the gifts he left me. So, while, I got my vaccine at 7, it didn't take effect until 28. Even then, I'm only just starting to feel like I'm actually inoculated at 30.
We can't be afraid to keep inoculating the youth. Kids need to see death, loss, and such like in their media. Withholding it from them just makes them less equipped for these exact moments when they're older. I firmly believe that.

Dear, sweet, Littlefoot, do you remember the way to the Great Valley?  I guess so. But why do I have to know if you’re going to be with me? I’ll be with you. Even if you can’t see me. What do you mean I can’t see you? I can always see you.

That’s Not What Friends Do (part 2)
Pairing: Lando Norris x reader
Warnings: none, this is so short I’m so sorry I just don’t have the motivation to finish this ugh..
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
part 1
As soon as the Brazilian GP was over, you were overcome with guilt for not being there for Lando. You already knew how it would look like after an unsuccessful race, he would shift all the blame to himself and that failure would eat him up for days.
You couldn't help but wonder if anything would have been different if you had gone to Brazil with him. Probably not, but at least you could have given him the comfort he so desperately needed right then and there. And that's why as soon as he returned home, you immediately found yourself knocking on the door of his apartment in Monaco.
"Hey, Lan" You gave him a soft smile looking straight into his eyes when he opened the door.
He smiled weakly back at you, saying nothing. He didn't even need to say anything because you could see the sadness in his sleepless eyes, so you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him into a tight and comforting hug.
"What took you so long?" He whispered as he buried his head in your neck, holding his arms tightly around your waist.
"I'm sorry, I came as soon as I could" You said gently caressing the back of his head.
The evening went by with you trying to talk to him about it, but he wasn't in the mood for it. He just wanted to take his mind off what was, for him, a tough defeat and enjoy your company, so you didn't push it.
You ordered food, had dinner, and then turned on a movie. Everyone was on their own end of the couch, Lando was lying on the elongated part, and you were sitting a little further away from him.
As the movie went on, you kept adjusting your position because it became uncomfortable for you to keep sitting.
"What's wrong?" Lando asked when you let out a deep sigh. "Are you getting bored with the movie?"
"No, but my back is starting to hurt." You stretch as you say.
"Come here" He extends his arm, signaling you to come lie down next to him.
"It's okay, don't worry" You want to. So much. But you know you shouldn't.
"Come" He insists.
You sigh, but move over to him anyway, resting your head on his shoulder as he wraps his arm around you. The movie continues, but Lando completely shifts his focus from the movie to you. Lucky for him, you don't see his gaze drop down to you as you lie curled up next to him, but you definitely feel his fingers gently playing with your hair. You just hope that the butterflies you feel in your stomach don't jump out and give you away.
"Are you okay, Lan?" You ask looking up at him.
He smiles at you and places his hand on your cheek. "I'm better now"
You blush at his gesture, thinking to yourself this is not what friends do. Lando was almost certain he was going to kiss you tonight. This was the perfect opportunity with you on him like this, with you pressed tightly against him and in his arms. Everything was leading to that.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be with you for the weekend. I was really busy finishing up the project I'd been working on."
"Were you really?" He asked with a hint of suspicion.
"Of course I was. I don't understand why do you think I would lie to you?”
"I don't know." He shrugs. "Maybe you wanted to be with your date that you still haven't told me about." The butterflies in your stomach fly away as soon as he mentions the date.
At that very moment, so late at night, your phone, which was next to you on the couch, rang and the screen displayed Charles' name and surname and seeing that, Lando's heart dropped.
"Charles Leclerc? You're fucking Charles Leclerc?"

This one goes out to all the bitches who love some good Safehouse Era Horror. It's me, I'm bitches. I want Jon and Martin to be fucked up and eldritch but I want them to be fucked up and eldritch and loved
(Notes under the cut because I can't help myself. Heads up, I do go into some detail of how Jon gets injured so I can explain my thought process for how I designed his scars. All canon-typical and fairly clinical in tone.)
Here's how I picture Safehouse Jon!
He doesn't need glasses anymore by this point, so he should just be wearing empty frames, but I drew this before I settled on my glasses headcanons. This drawing looks better with the reflection anyways.
He hasn't gotten a haircut since before his promotion to Head Archivist. He doesn't love the weight of it on his neck, but he also uses it to fidget, and he really doesn't want to go through the whole process of cutting it. He's disliked haircuts since he was a kid (People: Bad. Small talk: Bad. Touching: Bad. Loud sounds: Bad. People talking all at once: Bad) and since his time with the Circus he's only grown more reluctant to go and get it done.
At this length his hair is naturally pretty curly but he is. Not taking care of it. I actually put a lot of effort into trying to make it look brittle and tangled (I have a lot of experience lol, my hair is quite thick and I've always hated taking care of it. Yes I am also projecting my feelings about going to a hairdressers onto him why do you ask.)
The various scars were a bit of a strange task, but anyone who has seen my takes on The Bad Kids knows I'm not averse to selective realism in my fiction. Easiest one was the neck, I always pictured Daisy making a vertical cut based on "through the voice box". The larynx is longer than it is wide, so I think Daisy would go for the method that dealt damage across the largest total surface area. Yes I am aware that I'm speaking the same way Martin does when he explains his corkscrew.
The worm scars were easy because I barely drew any. There are a few marks on his cheek, but they're just surface bites. I picture most of his encounter with Prentiss showing on his legs, particularly on the right side, with enough damage there that he starts using a cane after the incident to keep weight off his right leg. More research to be done on this particular detail.
Finally the burn on his hand from Jude. This was the weirdest one to figure out just because of the nature of the injury. How do you quantify the damage done to an epidermis by a living manifestation of sometimes-boiling wax that can heat and cool at will? I settled on it being a second-degree burn that healed supernaturally fast, containing the damage to the space Jude had direct contact with. He'd probably have some mobility issues there as well. I know there are ways to help with mobility and pain after a severe burn, but I don't know how much of it Jon would actually. Do. Like I said, definitely further research to be done on these last two.
Hey so I'm gonna ask you to stop and consider the horror of the watcher. The helplessness. The guilt. The inherent terror of being a spectator, a participant by proximity but not by action. The horror of not being able to look away, of being a bystander. Jon forgets to blink sometimes. But wouldn't it be so much worse if there were no eyelids at all? That's how I interpret the description of The Archivist being "All Eyes" :D
I love a good Many-Eyed Jon, so I whipped up my own interpretation here. I think the more he Becomes the more he starts to resemble the thing from the dreams. He has a lot more control of it in S5, but it still creeps up on him and he has to consciously go back to a human shape.

Fire & Desire - Matt Sturniolo Part 10
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10
Pairing: Y/n x Matt Sturniolo
Summary: Y/n has always clashed with Matt. Despite working for Chris’s clothing brand and being close with Nick, her relationship with Matt has always been tense at best. While being forced to be around each other more, their animosity turns into something deeper. Can they overcome their differences, or will their fiery emotions tear them apart?
Warnings: MDNI, angst, tension
I woke up the next morning at 9.30 am, pulling the eye mask over my head as the sunlight flooded in my entryway. Stretching, I let out a yawn and checked my phone. Still no response from Matt. Not that I was expecting any after being left on read.
Brushing it off, I got up and threw on my slippers. Nick and I we going shopping at 11, and the idea of getting out of the house lifted my mood. But first I needed coffee, desperately.
I dragged my feet downstairs to the kitchen and made myself a quick breakfast, scrambled eggs on toast and coffee from the Keurig. Simple but enough to wake me up. While I ate, I doom scrolled on my phone, pausing every so often to read back over my messages with Matt. Still no reply.
I don't know why it frustrated me, I guess I just wanted answers. I rinsed my plate, set it in the dishwasher, and headed into the bathroom to get ready. It was nice to not feel rushed or that I was bothering Matt by taking my time in here. The hot water from the shower was just what I needed. I stayed under longer than usual, it was a small luxury, but I enjoyed it.
After finishing up and drying my hair, I walked back up to my room, pulling open my closet. My eyes immediately landed on the yellow Ralph Lauren jumper Nick had given me yesterday. I threw it on and paired it with my favorite jeans and white sneakers. I glanced at myself in the mirror, adjusting the jumper. It was slightly oversized but felt snug in all the right ways. I sprayed my perfume over myself to finish it all off.
“Perfect” I muttered to myself before grabbing my bag.
Nick opened his bedroom door, ready to go with an eager grin on his face. “Ready to spend some money?” he asked, holding Chris’ card up.
Nick ordered an uber and suggested we check in on Nate to see if he needed anything while we were out. I followed him down the stairs to Chris’ room. Nick gently knocked on the door before peeking inside. "Still out cold" he whispered, shaking his head with a small grin. I glanced past him and saw Nate sprawled across the bed, tangled in Chris’ blanket, looking completely unbothered by the world.
"Kids on a two day hangover by the look of it, what did you do to him?" Nick laughed, closing the door quietly before turning to me with a shrug.
"Don’t ask me, maybe he just can’t keep up like I can. Let’s just get him some snacks anyway, he’ll probably appreciate them when he finally wakes up."
The uber arrived an we hopped into the car, the Uber driver was really friendly and even let us have AUX. Nick seized the opportunity and started blasting one of his favorite playlists. The drive to the mall was filled with his off key singing while the driver laughed. It was impossible to be in a bad mood when Nick was like this, completely carefree and full of energy.
We arrived at the bustling mall, and I was instantly reminded of how much I loved and hated these places. The endless options were both exciting and overwhelming. Nick, of course, was in his element.
“Okay, first things first” he declared, clapping his hands together. “You need a suitcase. Like a good one, something sturdy.”
I followed him through the luggage section of a department store, pulling at the endless rows of suitcases in every size and color. I settled on a large suitcase in a turquoise shade. It was light but durable, with smooth wheels and plenty of compartments for organizing.
“This one feels very.. you” Nick said, wheeling it toward the register. “Now we just need to fill it"
Next, we headed to the clothing stores. The first thing to look for was swimwear. I sifted through racks of bikinis, one pieces, and cover ups while Nick hovered nearby, occasionally pulling something out and holding it up.
“This is cute” he said, holding a bright coral bikini against me.
“Too bright” I replied, shaking my head.
“You’re going to Hawaii! Bright is the point.”
We compromised on a mix of neutral and vibrant pieces, including a black one piece with a scoop back and a yellow bikini that Nick insisted matched the jumper he’d given me.
From there, we moved to outfits. Sundresses, flowy skirts, tank tops, and breathable shorts for getting in and out of the pool all made their way into my shopping bags. A wide brimmed sun hat and a pair of oversized sunglasses were also thrown into the mix.
“You’re going to look like you’re in a Vogue ad with those on” Nick teased as we passed the checkout.
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves” I shot back, laughing.
The last thing on our list was footwear. I grabbed a pair of comfortable sandals and white sneakers that would pair well with most outfits. Nick talked me into buying a pair of wedge heels “just in case” I wanted to dress up a bit fancier for dinner.
With every bag we accumulated, the excitement for the trip grew. Nick carried most of them without complaint, weaving through the mall like a man on a mission, while I lugged the suitcase behind me.
“Shit” he said.  “We forgot toiletries. Let’s go.”
We loaded up on mini shampoo bottles, sunscreen, bug spray, and anything else that could fit into the clear bag at security. I also grabbed a neck pillow for the flight and a small blanket.
“I think we went a little overboard” I admitted, looking at everything we had.
“No such thing" Nick replied, starting the engine. “You’re going to Hawaii. You deserve to look and feel amazing! Now, shoes again” Nick declared.
“But I already got shoes” I protested.
“You don’t have these shoes” he said, dragging me into another store.
Before I knew it, I’d added a pair of espadrilles and waterproof slides to my collection. At this point, I was sure I had enough to outfit myself for a two month long trip, not just two weeks in Hawaii.
“Okay” Nick said, stretching dramatically. “I’m starving. Let’s get food.”
We headed to a nearby bistro that had outdoor seating. The warm sunshine paired with the scent baked goods was heavenly. I ordered a chicken and cheese sandwich, while Nick opted for a salad.
As we waited for our food, Nick checked his phone and grinned.
“Chris’s phone is dispatched” he said. “Should be here later today.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Finally. It’s been so weird not being able to get in touch with him directly.”
Nick nodded, taking a sip of his iced tea. “Yeah, I’d say Matt doesn't know what to do now that his phone actually gets messages.”
The mention of Matt and messages nearly makes me turn red.
“What time are they getting home today actually?” I asked, trying to sound casual.
Nick shrugged. “Sometime later tonight. They booked a nighttime flight.”
I nodded, trying not to read too much into it. The food arrived, and we dug in, enjoying the rare moment of quiet.
After finishing our meal, Nick glanced at the mountain of shopping bags we’d accumulated and let out an exaggerated sigh.
“There’s no way we’re fitting this all in a normal car.” he declared, rubbing his temples dramatically.
I laughed. “You’re the one who kept saying, ‘Oh, just get it! It’s perfect!’”
He rolled his eyes. “And I don’t regret it one bit, but let’s be real. We need reinforcements, or at least a bigger car.”
Nick pulled out his phone and started tapping away. A moment later, he said, “Uber XL. It’s the only way we’re fitting all of this and ourselves into one ride.”
I nodded in agreement, looking at the bags around us. There were at least three overflowing ones just from the boutique alone, plus the suitcase we’d bought earlier that took up a ridiculous amount of space.
“Good call” I said.
Within minutes, a shiny black mini van pulled up outside the bistro. The driver stepped out, taking one look at us and our bags, and raised an eyebrow.
“Shopping spree?” he asked with a grin.
“You could say that” Nick replied with a chuckle.
The driver helped us load everything into the trunk, which, despite being spacious, was a tight fit. Once everything was secured, we hopped into the backseat, relieved to finally be off our feet.
As the car pulled away, Nick leaned back and sighed contentedly. “I’m never going shopping without an Uber XL again. This is the only way to do it.”
I laughed, leaning my head against the window as we cruised through the city. My thoughts drifted to Hawaii and all the outfits I’d packed for, the sunshine, the beaches. I felt a little buzz of excitement, like maybe this trip would be exactly what I needed.
We arrived home just near 3pm. Nick pushed the front door open with his hip, three shopping bags dangling from each hand, I followed closely behind, lugging the suitcase and two additional bags. The sheer weight of it all, especially the suitcase made me huff as I maneuvered it over the step into the house.
We paused just inside, catching our breath, when faint voices floated down from upstairs. My ears perked up, and I immediately recognized the voices. Chris and Matt.
Nick frowned, glancing back at me. “Are they.. here?”
“Surely not?” I replied, adjusting my grip on the suitcase. “You said their flight wasn’t supposed to land until later tonight.”
Nick shrugged, then headed up the stairs. I struggled to hoist the suitcase up the first few steps, the wheels knocking against the edges of each one.
“Could use some help here” I muttered, but Nick was already out of sight, more curious about the voices upstairs than my struggle.
By the time I reached the top, dragging the suitcase behind me, I could hear Nick questioning the guys.
“What the fuck are you two doing back so early?” he asked, standing in the hallway with a confused look.
Chris grinned, arms wide open as he stepped forward and dramatically pulled Nick into a bear hug. “What, I can’t miss my brother and come home early to see him?”
Nick groaned but didn’t pull away. “Chris you were gone for two whole days. Seriously though. What’s the deal? You weren’t supposed to land until later tonight.”
Matt leaned against the doorframe of his room, arms crossed and looking mildly amused. Chris finally released Nick and laughed.
“Man, we were so hungover yesterday that we couldn’t bear the thought of sitting around Vegas all day today waiting for a late flight. So, we booked an earlier one before we hit the strip last night” Chris explained.
Nick shook his head, muttering something about impulsiveness, before turning back toward me. “You hear that? Weak.”
I smirked, finally dropping the suitcase with a thud. Chris glanced over at me, his smile softening.
“Hey, Y/n” he greeted.
“Hey” I replied, brushing a strand of hair from my face and wondering why seeing him felt like a surprise.
As Chris glanced around, he ran a hand through his hair. "Yo, Nick, have you seen my business card? I swear I had it before we left for Vegas."
Nick smirked, clearly trying to rile him up. "I have it" he said casually, glancing at me standing there with my brand new suitcase and an absurd number of shopping bags.
Chris raised an eyebrow. "Well, can I have it back, genius?"
"Maybe" Nick teased, then pivoted. "Oh, by the way, your new phone should be here later today. You’re welcome."
I stood awkwardly at the top of the stairs, fully aware of Matt’s presence just a few feet away. He hadn’t said anything yet, but the tension was undeniable.
Finally Matt’s voice cut through the air, his tone sharper than necessary. "What’s with the suitcase? You finally moving out?"
I blinked, caught off guard by his comment. Before I could respond, Nick jumped in.
"It’s for Hawaii" Nick said as he leaned against the wall, crossing his arms casually.
Matt’s confusion was obvious, his brows furrowing deeply. "Hawaii? You already have a suitcase that size."
Nick shook his head, grinning like he was about to drop a bombshell. "It’s not for me, Einstein. It’s for Y/n."
Matt turned to me, his expression instantly hardening like he’d just been sucker punched. His eyes widened slightly, and for a moment, I swore he looked genuinely hurt.
Matt’s jaw tightened, and he looked like he wanted to argue but couldn’t find the words. His eyes flicked to me again, unreadable, before he straightened up and shoved his hands in his pockets.
"Wow some trip this is going to be then." he muttered before disappearing into his room, the door closing behind him, quiet but firm.
The hallway felt colder, and I avoided Nick’s gaze, pretending to fiddle with one of the bags. Chris, oblivious as ever, clapped Nick on the shoulder.
"Alright, where’s my card?"
Nick laughed, shaking his head. "Not so fast, bro. You’re helping me unpack this stuff first."
As the two of them headed off upstairs, I stood there, staring at Matt’s closed door, feeling a wave of something I couldn’t quite name. Guilt? Frustration? Maybe a mix of both. But I quickly shook it off and grabbed the suitcase, dragging upstairs toward my room and telling myself not to overthink it. Once everything was up in my room, Nick dropped his load dramatically on the floor, letting out an exaggerated sigh.
"Alright, that’s my good deed for the day" Chris said, brushing his hands together like the work was done.
"You’ve been so helpful" I said sarcastically as I started sorting through the bags.
Chris smirked, leaning against the doorframe. "You going to pack tomorrow?"
Nick shook his head. "Nah, we’re starting to pack now. No point in waiting till tomorrow morning and rushing."
Chris raised an eyebrow, watching me open the suitcase and start placing clothes inside. "If only I was that organised" he laughed, walking further into the room. His eyes immediately went to the Fresh Love samples hung up by the closet.
He stepped closer, tilting his head to get a better look. "Woah" he said, running his fingers lightly over one of the pieces. "These look even better in person. The photos don’t do them justice."
I glanced over at him, feeling a bit of pride in his compliment. "Thanks. I really like them.”
Chris nodded, a grin spreading across his face. "I ordered some personalized samples for us all to be delivered to our villa in Hawaii. Thought we could take some pictures out there for a night time shoot, maybe use them for promos. I got us all varsity jackets with our initial on them, and then some other pieces I thought everyone would like."
Nick perked up at that, clearly impressed. "That’s such a good idea! Especially since it's cold at night" he said, nudging me with his elbow.
I smiled at both of them, my chest swelling a bit with pride. "I guess it wouldn’t hurt to get some shots out there" I admitted, picturing how amazing the pieces would look in a tropical setting.
Chris picked up one of the sample pieces, holding it out. "Yeah, these are gonna kill it. People are gonna go nuts over this drop."
I nodded, the excitement of everything bubbling under the surface. For the first time in a while, I felt like things were coming together, and the thought of getting to share it in such a beautiful setting made it even better.
Chris set the sample back on the rack and stretched, letting out a small yawn. "Alright, I’m gonna go check in with Nate" he said, glancing toward the stairs. "He was still knocked out when I peeked into his room earlier. Probably still recovering from your crazy night out."
Nick gave him a nod. "Yeah, sounds about right.”
Chris chuckled. "I’ll catch you guys in a bit." With that, he turned and headed out of the room, the sound of his footsteps fading as he made his way downstairs.
Nick, without missing a beat, grabbed his pile of shopping bags and suitcase and walked toward his own room, which was right next to mine. “I’m leaving the door open so we can pack together. This way, I can judge your packing skills and make sure you don’t leave anything important behind."
I rolled my eyes but laughed. "Oh, because you’re the authority on packing now?"
Nick grinned as he disappeared into his room, propping his door open so we could still talk. "Absolutely. I’m a seasoned traveler, unlike you. I’ve got the technique down to a science."
I could hear him rustling through his bags, muttering about how he might need to pick up another pair of shorts before we left. Meanwhile, I started folding my clothes neatly into the suitcase.
Nick's voice carried over from his room as I heard the distinct sound of a zipper being tugged open. "Alright" he began, "Let’s see what we’ve got here. Swim trunks, check. I brought the neon ones this time.."
I laughed, picturing him strutting around in the loudest pair of swim trunks he could find. "You really need neon to stand out? Thought your personality did that already."
"Ha ha" he shot back. "No, but seriously, you’ll thank me when you’re trying to spot me in the ocean. Anyway.. tank tops. Got a few new ones, including that white one you said looked good. Oh, and my black button up for dinners. Can’t be showing up to a nice restaurant looking like I just rolled off the beach."
The sound of him rifling through bags grew louder. "Flip flops, sneakers, maybe I should bring those prada loafers.. what do you think?"
"Definitely bring the loafers for dinners. You’ll regret not having them."
"Good call" he replied, tossing them into his suitcase. "Alright, what else? Oh, sunscreen, got the high SPF stuff this time. Learned my lesson after that beach trip last summer. And hats! Gotta protect this money maker " he added, gesturing dramatically at his face.
"You’re ridiculous" I said with a laugh.
"Ridiculously prepared" he corrected.
I shook my head, smiling to myself as I continued to fold my clothes. "You sound like you’re moving away for good, not going on a vacation."
"Hey!" he called out, "you’re gonna thank me when you’re borrowing my stuff because you forgot something."
"Bold of you to assume I’d forget anything" I shot back, neatly placing my toiletries into my bag.
Nick peeked his head into the hallway. "Care to make a bet on that?"
I smirked. "We’ll see."
I glance around Nick’s room one last time, making sure he isn’t about to burst out again with some last minute comment, but all I hear is the sound of him collapsing onto his bed. “Alright, I’m taking a nap. All that shopping has me worn out”
I laugh at how dramatic he was, and closed over his bedroom door to let him sleep. I zipped up my suitcase and placed it in the corner of my room.
Now in silence, I sit on the edge of my bed. The small envelope from the flowers catching my attention, sitting on my bedside locker. It feels like it’s mocking me, just sitting there like some unsolved mystery. My fingers twitch as I pick it up, turning it over in my hands. Why does something so small have such a big hold over me? I hate how awkward everything feels now again, how one card and a few unread messages can mess with my head so much.
But I can’t go to Hawaii like this. I’m actually excited for the trip, and I’ll be damned if Matt is going to ruin it for me with this unresolved weirdness.
Acting on impulse, I shove the card back into the envelope and stand up. My heart’s pounding as my legs move before my brain fully catches up. Next thing I know, I’m marching down the stairs, the envelope clutched tightly in my hand like a lifeline.
The closer I get to Matt’s door, the louder the rush of blood in my ears becomes. The house feels strangely quiet, the kind of stillness that makes you hyper aware of every movement. I stop just outside his room, hesitating for a second. Maybe I should think this through, figure out what I’m even going to say. But before I can overthink it, my hand is already on the door handle.
I push the door open without knocking, stepping inside before I can change my mind. Matt’s sitting on his bed, scrolling through his phone. He looks up, startled, as the door swings open.
“Uh, hello?” he says, raising an eyebrow. “Ever heard of knocking?”
I ignore him, taking a step closer. “We need to talk.”
“About what?” he says, crossing his arms. “That you’re stealing Chris’ money and my clothes now?” He says, pointing at the yellow jumper I have on me.
Fuck this is his jumper.
No wonder the scent was familiar.
I take a deep breath, trying to not show how awkward I felt.

Danny stops mid rant once he realizes that Bruce Wayne is looking at him like he's crazy. "Ehh... never mind. It's just been a rough week. Ignore everything that I said. Obviously I'm alive. I'm just... uh, saying what my parents expect I'd say. Because they think I'm dead."
"You're used to indulging their delusions." Bruce stated, more than asked.
Danny sighed. "Look. I'm really sorry about them. But did you have to publish the name of the dead boy you thought was your son? Even if it's not me, that's gotta be some sort of privacy violation. Did you get permission from the family of the dead Danny?"
"...I'm sorry, I don't know how the body's identity got released to the press." Bruce had a genuine look of guilt on his face. "But you're right. That information should never have hit the news."
"Well, I guess it's not your fault then." Danny shrugged. "Um. This is a long shot, but do you know how to get in contact with Batman?"
"..."
"It's just, now that they're convinced you have my body- my parents... are kinda single-minded? And I wouldn't put B&E to steal what they think is the remains of their son past them. So. I wanna talk to Batman. To discuss how best to handle their brand of... them-ness. They're a lot, but they're good people! And they're grieving me, as misplaced as it is."
--------
The Fentons want a dead body that doesn't exist.
The Waynes want to keep their cover and not blow their identities. (No, Tim. You are not allowed to clone Daniel to make a fake corpse for his parents.)
Danny wants his parents to accept that he's both dead and alive and stop harassing a rich fruitloop for the corpse of a rando kid he mistook for his son. And he'd like to get that without having to out his identity to more people, but at this point it seems unlikely.
So.
When Bruce Wayne agreed to set up a meeting for him with Batman, Danny decided to tell the truth. Because who could he trust with it if not a fellow hero?
------
Ok. Batman was way more intimidating in person. The mass of shadows stared him down. Danny didn't know how to break the silence.
Luckily the Dark Knight took mercy. "Wayne told me you wanted to discuss your parents' potential future actions."
"R-right. Um. Yeah. Ok." Danny took a deep breath to quit his rambling and get to the point. "So. Some background info. Mom and Dad are ecto-biologists and ghost hunters. They spent their career inventing tech that runs on ectoplasm and publishing papers on the evils of post-human-consciousness. Their magnum opus was a portal to a theoretical dimension of ecto and ghosts. They built it in our basement. And."
Danny let the rings of transformation form. He began to float and at Batman's tensing, crossed his arms and legs to appear smaller. He looked away. "It killed me. Kinda. I am dead, but not. I'm a ghost, but I'm alive. I didn't tell them when it happened. They're ghost hunters, y'know? I grew up hearing the evils of my kind. But then the other Danny Fenton was announced dead, and they figured I was a ghost anyway."
Danny set his feet on the ground and turned human. "So I told them the truth, that I'm both, that I've been protecting Amity from the ghosts coming through the portal as the hero Phantom. But. Well, I don't know how much Mr. Wayne told you, but they're convinced I'm fully dead. They want me to move on. That's why they want the body."
Danny clutched at his hair in frustration. "And. I can't convince them otherwise! I don't- this reveal is already going so much better than I could've hoped. They're already rethinking their 'all ghosts are evil' stance. But. I can't keep living with them. They think I'm DEAD, Batman! That I'm haunting them or something. I can't do that to them! I can't make them believe me-!"
Large hands wrapped around Danny's own to gently uncurl the fingers fisted in his hair. "What do you need, Danny?"
Danny sniffed. His hands still held in Batman's own, Danny ducked his head, turning to self consciously wipe his face on his sleeve. "I don't know." He said in a tiny voice. "I want them to get better."
"..."
"Everyone always said they were mad scientists, growing up. I- I don't want them to- to end up at Arkham. But I can't convince them anymore. They need, like, a professional. But it will only work if the professional knows what's actually going on, and that means revealing my secret identity to more people, end even if there is someone trustworthy, I'll still need someplace to stay while we're doing this fucked up supernatural family therapy. So maybe I just gotta... fake my death. Let them move on. Wayne can tell them the other Danny got cremated already or something. And I'll... go... somewhere."
Danny pulled his hands out of Batman's grasp and stood up straight. "Yeah. Ok. Batman, will you help put Danny Fenton to rest once and for all?"
It's a Terrible Cover Story, Really :/
DP x DC AU where, when trying to make a cover story for why Jason is suddenly legally alive again, Bruce (and the rest of the fam) come up with a story that they had found the body of a child that looked just like 15 year old Jason after he had gone missing and went straight into greif stricken panic and assumed to worst! Jason had come back to them later (let's say he's 22/23 here) after recovering from amnesia, and DNA tests confirmed it's him. They claim they exhumed the body and had the DNA tested and it came back (and they make this name up, completely believing that, since enough people have similar names, this won't come back to bite them) as Danny Fenton.
It's plastered all over the news and it makes it's way back to Jack and Maddie fast: who are now completely convinced their son died on a breif trip they took to Gotham 7 years ago and came back as a ghost who just didn't know he was dead. When they try to bring up the topic with Danny, as gently as they could, they wind up learning that he's Phantom and start to think it's a split personality type deal. One is their son trying to greave his own death and failing because he thinks he's still alive, and the other is their son trying to live up to them as ghost hunters and trying to be the hero his kid self must have thought they were. They're torn up and grief stricken and try contacting Bruce about retrieving their sons body.
Bruce is freaking out because he thinks he just convinced people who may have been looking for their son for years that their kid is dead (and maybe he is! Oh god!) And Amity Park nonsense is keeping him from finding anything about the (half) living Danny, now attending community college.
Jack and Maddie are freaking out because they don't want to let go of their son, but also this can't be healthy for any of them or for Danny's soul, he needs to move on and they need time to rethink everything they've ever thought about ghosts to grieve.
And Danny's freaking out because he thinks Brucie Wayne, ditz extraordinaire (unless his kids are involved), clueless to a fault, Brucie, somehow figured out he was a ghost and outed him to his parents???? Not cool man!

Note
Could you do a one-shot where alastor is super nervous when meeting reader, not really on his face but more his body language where when she shakes his hand he continues shaking it or doesn't let go immediately. nervous smile too lol, thanks love your stuff!!
Heeey I wrote it hope you don't mind some interpretation on my part! You didn't mention why Alastor was nervous so I just did whatever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Tags: Oblivious Alastor, Cartoonist Writer, Humor, awkward affection, Alastor is either oblivious or in-denial, Nifty is Nifty and you should all love her
-----------------------
Alastor’s introduction to you was not a willing one. Charlie had started a bit of a bookclub at the Hotel as some odd attempt at bonding. Alastor wanted no part of it, but after the 532nd time Charlie asked him he said something particularly scathing and the princess was cruel and told Vaggie, and the ex-exorcist would NOT stop stabbing his door until he finally relented.
Of course, his choice of book was one called ‘Blank’. It was a notebook with nothing written in it. Very easy to discuss at a bookclub.
Charlotte was not impressed and Vagatha once again starting throwing vague threats in his direction. How tempted he was to just kill both of them, but alas this hotel has been the greatest form of entertainment he’s had in years (is what he tells himself.)
Darling Nifty came to his rescue, offering up a variety of different light-reading to be discussed in the future. Most of which were….not to his taste. Nifty’s interests highlighted most definitely, but Alastor quickly chucked the books out the window when the story turned to ….that.
As the number of books dwindled, he was just about prepared to give up on this stack entirely and fetch something meaningless to pretend to read (who’d check, anyway?).
He picked up one, a flimsy comic-book like thing and rolled his eyes once before giving it a go. The story wasn’t anything particularly interesting. The plot was just two bunnies going to get some ice cream. But the wordplay, the exaggeration of all the smallest obstacles, how self-aware and absurd it was gave him a good laugh. The Radio Demon’s first introduction to your work.
Although the bookclub idea ended up going nowhere, Alastor found himself seeking out more of your works. Another about a man just making a taco, one about a woman folding her laundry. So many little, day-to-day situations amplified to a ridiculous amount. Clever one-liners and humorous puns sprinkled throughout kept it intelligent enough for him to maintain interest despite the absurdity of it all.
Eventually he got a cartoon you drew that seemed just the same as the rest. Some random cute cartoon raccoon drawing some random little cartoon things. There was a scene in it though that stuck to Alastor’s mind (and dare he say, heart) like glue.
In it, the raccoon was confronted by a shark. “Why do you bother making these?” the shark sneered “No one reads these but you, no one looks at them but you, there’s no point.”
“Why does there need to be a point?” The raccoon said. Alastor’s ears straightened up on their own accord as he read “Even if no one sees it, it’s something I made and it’s some I enjoyed making.”
“Even if you put it out there, no one will care about it.”
“Someone will. They might not say anything but there’ll always be at least one.”
“Do you know how stupid you sound? No one gives a crap about your ‘passions’!”
“I do.”
“Do you know how stupid you sound-“
And then the raccoon pressed a button and an anvil fell onto the shark, comedically turning it into a pancake. “Your argument doesn’t have any depth.” The raccoon said. The story moved on from there.
It struck a bit of a chord with Alastor, he could admit that much to himself. And the raccoon’s way of dealing it was something he’d keep in mind for his next encounter with an annoyance. He didn’t put much stock in it, as storytellers and their stories don’t always agree on all things.
Your comics were a little joyful distraction when he needed them, that was all. Nothing deep and profound.
“BOSS!”
Alastor slammed shut the book he was reading, his grin never faltering though his twitching ears indicated a slight nervousness. He tilted his head in acknowledgement. “Hello, Nifty! Did you need something?”
Nifty scamped up his chair and onto his lap, settling down andstaring up at him with her one big eye. “BOSS BOSS BOSS BOSS I MET THE DEMONESS WHO DRAWS THOSE CARTOONS YOU LIKE”
Alastor’s eye twitched “Oh? Well, that’s neat.”
She stood up, squishing his face between her hands and stared more as her grin grew wider and more manic “Did you want to meet her?”
Yes
“Now, now, Nifty.” Alastor said as he removed her hands from his face “There’s better ways to waste one’s time.”
Nifty tilted her head, staring at him as though it would allow her to see into his mind. Her expression shifted into….One he hadn’t seen on Nifty, admittedly. The best way he could describe it was ‘smug’. But what would she have to be smug about?”
“If you say so, Boss!” She chirped, hopping off his lap and trotting off “But yeah I was at the Evermore Book-Store and she was there working ‘cause I guess that’s what she does for a livng….” Nifty’s voice faded away as the little maid walked off, not caring her rambling were being said to no one.
After Alastor had finished his errands for the day, he happened by that very store…for…Reasons. Upon entering it, he realized he had no idea who- what- he was looking for. The store itself wasn’t large. A couple patrons, one large hulking demon with tiny spectacles at the desk and a much smaller one organizing shelves.
One of the workers, then?
Not that he cared.
“Pardon me!” Alastor chirped to the desk demon. Their big eyes seemed to move in slow motion to him, a low grunt accompanying the acknowledgement. “I’m looking for someone, yes? The author of some silly comics?”
The demon slowly narrowed their eyes, lips curling up into a snarl as a growl emanated from them.
“Ah, so she is here?”
The demon planted their very large hands on the desk, pushing themselves up to stand at their full height. They were taller than Alastor by a good three feet, and much more muscular as well. Their nostrils flared, blowing hot air into his face.
Alastor wasn’t the slightest bit phased. (He found it funny, actually). “So may I speak to her?”
The large demon opened up their gaping jaw-
“That’s me, hi! How can I help you?” The shelf-stacking demon interrupted, getting between Alastor and the clerk demon. A nervous little lady with a wobbly unsure smile and bags under her eyes that looked like they could carry the entirety of Hell in them.
Alastor held up one of your comics- a book that has been very obviously well-read “You’re the creator of these splendid little things?”
“Splendid…?” You repeated him, trailing off into an amused snort “Er. Yeah, I wrote and drew those.” The Clerk behind you closed their mouth, setting back down on their chair and adjusting their spectacles. The glare didn’t leave Alastor.
“Well, my dear, I find I quite enjoy them! It’s quite a pleasure to meet you.” Alastor said, not paying the larger (glowering) demon any mind. He found himself wondering why you were so tired and so timid. A woman like you should be so much more cheerful! Alastor was a tad offended….Because you weren’t smiling like he did. That’s it. Really.
“Well. I’m glad you like them.” You said. “It’s nice to meet you, too.” You offered your hand for him to shake.
One of his ears twitched. You must be fairly new to Hell, to offer a handshake so easily. Or perhaps a bit sheltered or on the naïve side. Alastor briefly considered making a sly deal to take your soul, but… Well, there was no need for that.
He took your hand and gave it a firm shake. Your hand was so much smaller than his own, but it felt as though it warmed his entire body. This was strange. Perhaps you were casting some spells on him? Why was he finding it so hard to focus- why did he feel like he didn’t know what to say next- why-
The Clerk gripped Alastor’s arm in between two fingers, gently but assertively pulling it away from you. You took half a step back, cradling your arm to your chest as if he burned you. Alastor glared up at the Clerk “Is there a problem?”
The large demon growled. You intervened again “Er….You were just. Holding my hand for a while. It was……kind of weird.”
“Ah.” Alastor cleared his throat, straightening his posture with a flourish “My apologies! Mind was elsewhere, you know how it is with us creative types.”
You blinked. Then your timid smile turned a bit more confident. A bit more…like a smirk. “Er. Yeah, I guess so. Well. See you around, I guess?”
“If I have the time, I suppose!” Alastor grinned “Well then, I must be off! Ta-ta!”
You watched as the strange demon disappeared into shadows and slivered off. As soon as all trace of him was gone, you laughed quietly into your hand “Well, I can certainly say for certain I know someone ‘awkward as hell’ now.”
Your friend groaned, gently pushing you over as they continued their own work.

-With that said it's all under the cut-
The idea of you both moving in together was obvious, most nights one of your guys's apartments was empty because you would sleep over with the other person. It wasn't entirely ideal because of the animals but both of you didn't want to move too quickly in your relationships. That was nearly a year ago before you knew he was Nightwing.
Now Richard was staying at whatever apartment was closest after patrol and unfortunately that meant it was usually his. Sleeping in an empty bed just felt wrong at this point.
"Why don't you just move in? You shouldn't have to drive so far after a long day of work, I know the traffic in the city is not great around this time. I mean it's never great." Dick rubbed your back as you both laid in bed together.
"You're sure?" You asked as you played with his silky soft fluffy hair.
"I mean it would help me keep an eye on you but if you don't want to I entirely understand, I don't want to pressure you into anything." He leaned into your soft touches, closing his eyes with a groan.
"I mean I've been meaning to get away from the other job for a while anyways, If we can figure something out I wouldn't mind moving." Absentmindedly staring at the ceiling in the almost pitch black room.
"You mean that weirdo, David? Is he still coming around?" He asks about the weirdo that used to work at your job that kept stalking you.
"No, I think you scared I'm off but I'm really tired of looking over my shoulder and hoping that he's not there."
"I can find you a job pretty easily I mean hell you could probably work with me if you wanted."
"Isn't that like conflict of interest?"
"Not if we are actually working."
"I'd be down." Haley jumping on the bed to curl into your side.
"Then you're moving in." Cuddling into your chest, his face squished against your boobs.
"I am moving in" You smiled as sleep started taking you.
It was a bit of a process going through everything that you had acquired over time. You had that apartment since you were 18 so there was a lot to go through. It took about a week but you were getting everything settled and moved into Dick's place.
Once everything was in it's rightful place at his apartment the last but most important piece was your cat Frodo. Frodo is very affectionate and loving.
"Oh, God. I'm nervous."
"It's okay, Honey. Haley's got her mask on and I've got a hold of her." He's almost 100% sure she won't do anything to her but he wants to be sure.
"Well, here goes nothing." You brought Frodo's carry case over to Haley to let her sniff him. Frodo started hissing as Haley got super excited and playful which prompted Dick to make her sit.
"Be gentle Haley." He said to the sweet pitbull that listenss to every word that came out of his mouth.
"I guess we'll just have to give them time." You stated to Dick. After about 20 minutes of him in the crate you decided to let him out. Dick told Haley to come sit on the couch with him and she very quickly listened being such a well-trained dog. Once everyone calm down they seemed to as well.
The three of you saw on the couch and watched a movie while Frodo decided to go explore the house. After about an hour Frodo came back and surprisingly curled up next to Haley. You were half asleep against chest so you didn't notice but he sure did, he took a photo and posted it on Snapchat with the caption "my little family" which was a photo of you laying on his chest and the animals cuddling together. This was all that he hoped for when he was so happy that everybody was getting along.

SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR EYES — 𝐈𝐈
Late calls were the norm now. The clock on your desk blinked 4:30 AM in angry, red digits. "Don't you ever sleep, Gojo?" Your eyes were bleary, voice groggy and sleep was catching up.
On the other hand, Satoru Gojo chuckled from his end of the phone—his voice as annoyingly bright as you'd expect from someone who treated four in the morning as prime socializing time. "What? Tired of talking to me already?"
You couldn't help but scoff in amusement, rubbing your eyes. "Tired in general." You muttered. "But you can say that as well."
"Oh come on," He said. And you could hear his pout. "Tomorrow's the weekend anyway. You'll have time to rest."
"Go to sleep already."
"Nah, sleep is for the weak."
Tumblr media
A sigh escaped you. And Gojo, upon hearing it, felt a little guilty.
"Hey," His voice dropped lower, becoming softer. "You know you don't have to keep me company staying up, right? You don't have to ruin your sleep just because I can't have mine."
"Which is pretty romantic, if you ask me." Gojo added, looking up at the ceiling of his room. "And they say chivalry is dead."
"Mmm," You hummed, letting out a breathy laugh. "It's fine, y'know. I actually enjoy talking to you. And like you mentioned, there's the weekend too. Plenty of rest for me to take."
Gojo hesitated. "Actually..."
"You're planning by yourself again, aren't you?"
He flipped over in bed, lying on his stomach. The pad of his index finger drew lazy patterns on his pillow. "You know me so well, don't ya?" He said in a sing-song voice, smiling to himself.
"Like the back of my god damn hand." You grinned.
Gojo and you had been talking for months now. Conversation between the two of you was always easy—and it was as if you never ran out of topics whilst talking with one another. The chemistry between the two of you was great. Even perfect.
"Anyway," Gojo started, focusing on tracing patterns, hoping it'd somehow calm his nerves. "Got any plans for tomorrow?"
"Other than being busy sleeping after this?"
That made him laugh. "You won't be sleeping all day, c'mon."
"Try me." You said, and Gojo hummed lightheartedly. He loved talking to you. After a brief silence, you spoke. "No, I won't."
"That's great!" Gojo exclaimed. You could hear the excitement in his voice—how enthusiastic he was at the notion, his voice tinged with a hint of relief. "So.. would you want to meet up?"
"I don't know," You chewed on your lower lip, turning to lie on your stomach as well and observing your cuticles. "Where to?"
"How does the amusement park sound?" Gojo prayed you wouldn't hear the nervousness in his voice. He wasn't one to nitpick between what words to use and what sentences to say—but with you, it was different. With you, he wanted it to be perfect. "I won't bore you, I promise." He winced.
Did that sound desperate? Too much? He stressed too much about stupid things with you—his voice, his words, the way he carried himself. You had a way of making him self-conscious.
"I'm just playing with you." You swang your legs absentmindedly, chewing on a nail. "I'd absolutely love to go with you."
And oh—how happy that made Gojo Satoru.
"What should I wear?"
"Anything." His cheeks hurt from smiling, but it was as if he couldn't make it stop. "You'd look good in anything."
"That's not helping, y'know." You grinned.
"But I mean it."
You sighed, a little amused. "Alrighty, then. I'll wear whatever."
"Alright." He repeated. The call was coming to an end, it made him a little sad. But he knew he'd see you tomorrow. To say he was happy was an understatement to how he really felt.
"Goodnight, Satoru."
Gojo opened his mouth to say something, but then paused. A long silence ensued. His heart thumped in his chest. "What?"
"Hm?"
"You.." His voice sounded weird. "You said 'Satoru', didn't you?"
You giggled. "I have no idea what you're talking about." You feigned ignorance. "Now goodnight for real."
"..." He bit his cheek, suppressing his laugh. "Goodnight (Name)."
Click. The call ended. But Satoru Gojo stayed like that for a while, in the darkness—simply staring at nothing. Then, he buried his face into his pillow, sighing. You left him a giddy mess—a legion of butterflies taking flight at the pit of his stomach.
“ 10 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 I'LL 𝐊𝐄𝐄𝐏 GOING 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 „
Gojo found himself second-guessing his choice of clothes. Sure, he'd gone on dates before, but it didn't mean his nerves were any less frayed. What if he was trying too hard—or not enough?
It's not even a date, he thought—trying to convince himself to calm down, even if just a little. He just wanted to impress you.
Gojo wore a white Stüssy graphic tee, a vintage black leather jacket with racing stripes, and gray cargo pants. Black Converse and chunky silver jewelry add style, while wraparound sunglasses to complete the look. He hesitated for a moment, then took off the glasses. Too much. He checked his hair one final time in his phone's camera—and seemed fairly satisfied.
Just as he was about to look at the time, wondering if he'd come too early—you called out his name. "Satoru!"
His heart jumped a little. He turned around—and broke into a smile when he watched you wave at him. He waved back.
"Hey."
You smiled up at him. "Hi."
His eyes flickered down for a moment, taking in your outfit for the day—and god, you looked so... "Gorgeous."
"Hm?" You tilted your head. "What's up?"
"You look gorgeous." He cleared his throat. "Really pretty. I like the..." His words left him. Because how could he pick just one, when every aspect of you was beautiful? "...hmm. Everything."
You raised a brow, feigning suspicion. "Uh-huh."
"What?" Gojo grinned, smiling down at you. "Don't believe me? But I'm being serious, I promise. You look really nice."
"You look great too." You linked your arm with his, causing his pulse to quicken. The two of you were in closer proximity—more than you'd ever been before. "Hurry—I'm excited."
“ 10 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 I'LL 𝐊𝐄𝐄𝐏 GOING 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 „
"Need me to hold your hand?" Satoru shouted over the clatter of the track. "I wouldn't want you to feel scared or anything."
You snickered, rolling your eyes. But you decided to play along. "You're the one who'll be begging for my hand halfway through."
"Yeah, right." He gave you a toothy smile. "We'll see about that."
As the rollercoaster climbed to it's peak—anticipation built up with bated breath. "Ready?" He looked over with excitement.
"Always!" You shout back, laughing—right before the coaster descended speedily. The ride was full of twists and turns, and by the end of it, the both of you were laughing so hard your sides hurt. Gojo wiped a tear of laughter away, smiling widely down at you. "Told ya I could handle it. How about you? Need a break?"
It took you a while to regain your composure. "Not a chance," You grinned up at him—grabbing his hand. "..What's next?"
As the evening progressed, the pace slowed down. Satoru Gojo insisted on winning you something at the carnival games, but after three entire tries at the ring toss—all disastrous—things didn't seem to be looking too good for him. You stifled a laugh.
"Stop laughing at me," Gojo pouted, dramatically placing a hand on his chest. "This is sabotage. The rings are cursed."
"Maybe you're just bad at this." You teased.
"Me? Bad?" He feigned offence. "Impossible. Watch this."
Another fail. But Gojo kept on trying anyway—he kept trying until he finally, finally succeeded (after umpteenth tries), and the over-the-top celebration had you in stitches.
"See?" Gojo stated proudly. Man, was he sweating. He really thought he wouldn't be able to acquire you anything, and thus making a fool of himself. "All skill." He gave you, what probably was his brightest smile yet—one that stretched from ear to ear. "For you. But we can call it a joint effort."
"Right." You grinned, hugging the large stuffed panda close.
“ 10 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 I'LL 𝐊𝐄𝐄𝐏 GOING 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 „
The Ferris wheel was the perfect way to end the day. Gojo leaned back against the seat, his long legs stretched out casually—but his gaze was locked entirely upon you and you only. He watched you silently as you looked outside, small 'ooh's and 'wow's leaving you at the view outside and below.
"You've been smiling all day." His tone was softer. Quieter. A departure from his usual tone. It's as if his eyes wouldn't leave you; they were so gentle and relaxed. As if his eyes had found their place and respite—as if all his eyes were meant to do was be on you, admiring every inch. "I like seeing you like this."
You glanced at him, a little caught off guard by his sincerity. "It's been a really good day." You settled back into your seat from your kneeling-on-the-bench position. "All thanks to you."
"Good." He murmured, leaning in closer. He laced his fingers with yours. "That's all I wanted. To make you happy."
The Ferris wheel stopped at the top, leaving you both suspended in the air. The scene was breathtaking—but all either of you could do was focus on each other. Gojo leaned in further to push back a few strands of hair behind your ear. "Let's make this a regular thing." He whispered. "Just you and me."
You couldn't help but smile. "I'd like that."
“ 10 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 I'LL 𝐊𝐄𝐄𝐏 GOING 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 „
The walk home with Gojo was quiet, the dull chitter chatter filling the space between you. He was uncharacteristically mellow. Every now and then, he sneaked a glance at you, his lips quirking into a small smile when your eyes met.
When the two of you finally reached your house, he turned to you—eyes gentle as he looked down at you. "Well.. this is your stop, (Name)." He teased. "Back to your boring, Satoru-less life."
You giggled, rolling your eyes "It’s not boring." You paused, then silently admitted: "But it might be a little quieter—yes."
Gojo's eyes lit up at your confession, something akin to childlike happiness in him. "See? You’re already admitting you’ll miss me." He teased, smiling down at you with a soft expression.
For a moment, you just looked at him—the playful glint in his eyes, and the soft smile tugging at his lips. It was a rare, quiet moment. You couldn't help but feel something stir in your chest.
And before you could overthink it—you stood on the tips of your toes—and then you pressed a small, soft kiss to his cheek.
The playful grin on his face vanished in an instant. His mouth parted slightly and a faint, pink blush spread across his cheeks— creeping up to the tips of his ears. He was stunned.
"Goodnight, Satoru." you say softly, pulling back and walking up to the stairs before he could say anything. "Get back safe."
"I..." Gojo was stunned. "Hey— Wait—" His voice cracked slightly, and you stifled a little laugh, turning around to wave.
"I had fun." You called, disappearing into your house.
Gojo stood there for a moment—utterly baffled, his hand slowly coming up to touch his cheek where your lips had just been.
"..." A soft laugh escaped him. He didn't move an inch for a while — too busy grinning like an idiot and replaying the moment in his head over and over "Well…" He sighs. "That wasn’t fair."

I kind of like that Rook is the uninteresting fuck up of a character whose only talent seems to be to make all of these cool people incredibly horny for them. Even if they're not actually a fuck up. They have a talent, I'll get to it.
It just makes me sad that it's probably because the game gives you a lot of background options, so customizing the entire storyline for each of those options would have been a lot. Basically to give a strong story from each of those backgrounds they would have had to rewrite a lot and provide many more dialogue options. It's not just an issue with this. Veilguard in general suffers from having very few decisions that actually make a difference for the story.
Anyways. Even if the reason for it is bad, I like that we get companions with big stories and talents while our character is just one person among them. I hate playing a game where the player character is the only one with special powers and strong plot relevance. These people are gathered together because they're the name that came to mind when thinking "we need an expert on ____". Of course it's a company where anyone is going to feel like a bumbling idiot.
I like that Rook is the one who steps back and listens to the others. I like that they ask even the dumb questions. I don't feel like that's "on Rook's expense", that's not really how it works when talking to people. It's not about counting points for cool one liners.
Rook's talent is asking the questions. Their talent is that they're offering sympathy when the others have such poor people skills that they don't even think of comforting Rook. Even when Lucanis buys things for everyone else he forgets Rook. Because Rook is Rook, easy to overlook. Rook listens to the team and smooths out conflicts. They're the glue that holds this bunch of big personalities together. Without them it would be explosive temperaments and infighting.
I actually love that the game makes the player feel like they're not that important and that they're not as cool as the other characters and that they're almost invisible. Because we all know someone like that. Someone who we might not always think about but who keeps stuff running smoothly.
And in the end I don't think any of the companions could handle having Solas in their head. They would have said something to anger Solas and get him to shut up for good. We need poor old bumbling Rook who somehow gets Solas to kind of help them instead.
What’s really jumping out at me on my second playthrough is that the writers of the first three games understood that your character was the main character. The Veilguard writers clearly thought that the main characters were their characters, the companions.
Every scene is about setting the companions up as cool or competent or sympathetic. Often, this is done at Rook’s expense. The companions get all the witty one-liners; Rook’s attempts at humor not only frequently fall flat, but are frequently called out for falling flat (even when they’re completely automatic and the player has no say in them).
The companions have all the knowledge and skills; Rook just brought them all together and gives them all pep talks so they can focus. I’m trying to edit out all of the comments where Rook is like “Um… what????” from my videos, and let me tell you, it takes WORK. There are A LOT of them. I can count on one hand the number of times when the Inquisitor or Hawke comes across as dumb, but it seems to be a built-in, unavoidable part of Rook’s character. I have not selected a single “purple” option in all of Act 1, and Rook is still coming across as the kid who tries to be the class clown to cover for the fact that he’s always confused. Rook’s role in most scenes is to say “Uhhh… what?” so that the companions look smart.
Rook is always the one offering sympathy and never the one getting it. No one actually comes to comfort you after Varric’s death. No one asks you how you’re feeling about having to lead the team now that Varric is gone. No one tries to reassure you or give you advice for dealing with the trickster god haunting your dreams. We’re told that Neve could keep Solas out of your head, but she never actually offers to do this for you. No one comforts a Shadow Dragon Rook when Minrathous is destroyed or a Grey Warden Rook when Weisshaupt is destroyed. Rook’s problems don’t matter. Only the problems of main characters matter.
Rook is a secondary character in their own story.

ashes – day 60
Tumblr media
"she's just... amazing, you know?"
nico chuckled, arms crossing over his chest as he leaned back in his seat. he and jack had managed to steal the seats by the only table on the bus to the second game of their newest road trip. while most of the team caught up on some sleep, the two friends were engrossed in a round of gin rummy – one jack was losing by quite a lot. "you keep telling me that," the captain said, placing a king down on the table. "so does anna. i haven't met her, but it feels like i know everything about her already."
jack laughed along with this, picking up a new card from the pile. "i'm going to bring her along so you can meet her someday, and you'll see."
"to the christmas family skate, maybe?"
the younger of the men pressed his lips into a line, head tilting to the side as he looked up from his cards. "not sure about that, it's still a little early," he said.
"early? you've been going out for months, and it's still early?" nico shook his head. "you two see each other all the time, and it's still early. whenever i ask if you want to do something, it's always, no i have a date, or something."
"you're exaggerating."
the swiss sighed, shaking his head. "what's the deal with that, anyway?" he asked. "why won't you bring her along? are you ashamed of her?"
"of course not." jack gazed over his cards for a long time, pretending to think about which card to place instead of formulating his next sentence. "it's just… complicated. difficult. she's not the type to want to be paraded around the arena like a puck bunny or whatever." he finally placed a queen on top of the discard pile, reaching over to grab his water bottle from his bag and take a sip.
"sure. but showing her off and just taking her to one game is different, no?" nico countered, grabbing the queen jack had just placed, and dropping it down in front of him along with two other queens.
the younger groaned at his actions, shaking his head. "how is that even possible?!" he exclaimed, before letting out a deep sigh and returning to the former subject. "i guess… i don't really know where we stand. like, we see each other all the time, but…"
"man, i heard she's got some serious commitment issues, but if it's this bad…"
jack's ears perked up at this. "you heard what? did anna say something?"
nico thought for a moment before placing his cards face-down on the table and sighing. "i don't know how true this is – anna told me that jenny told it to her, but you know girls." jack nodded slowly, so he kept on talking. "there's… some stuff in her past, apparently. her parents' relationship wasn't too good, and one of her exes… man, i shouldn't say anything because i don't really know, so you should ask her yourself."
jack tried his best not to react, to make it seem like he in fact knew everything his captain was talking about. he nodded slowly, a soft "yeah, you're right" slipping from his lips. on the outside, he looked calm as a ???
but on the inside? completely freaking out. your parents? your ex? jack thought he had finally managed to reach deeper into you, that he had finally gotten you to open up. you were much more honest with him, and he was sure that you two were on the right track, even if you moved slowly. but you had never as much as hinted to anything in your past affecting you the way nico was insinuating.
he felt a little dumb, though, that he hadn't realized sooner. of course there was something deeper going on that he had no idea about. but oh how badly he wished you were comfortable enough to tell him about it, instead of him having to hear about it from his friend. who heard it from his fiancée, who heard it from your friend, who heard it from you. four degrees of separation were three too many.
as if sensing that jack needed a break from his own thoughts, nico placed his final two card onto the table, leaving jack with about fifty points worth of deadwood. the boy slammed his head onto the table as he let nico collect all of the cards, a string of curses falling from his lips.
sure, his mind was now occupied, but at what cost?

caitvi meet in a brothel: a one-shot
imagine caitlyn and vi run into each other at a brothel to gather intel about a case except they had promised each other that the lead wasn't worth pursuing
Caitlyn was making her way through the halls of the brothel until she stopped in her tracks, hearing a familiar voice. She peered into the room to see Vi manspreading, leaning back on the couch comfortably. "Vi?! What are you doing here?" "Cait? What are you doing here?" "I asked you first!" "I just uhhh...come here sometimes," she lied, avoiding Caitlyn's piercing blue eyes on her. "Oh really? You'd rather lie about cheating on me than admitting that you're here following the questionable lead we promised not to pursue?" Caitlyn replied somewhat aggressively as she grabbed a fistful of Vi's hair, forcing her eyes up to Caitlyn. "Uh huh, and what about you, Matilda?" Vi teased. Caitlyn rolled her eyes, letting go of Vi's hair. "I got this, trust me," Vi said, smirking confidently. "It'll be easier if I talk to her," Caitlyn added, noting the confused look on Vi's face. "Rumor has it, I'm more of Astrid's type anyways." Vi grumbled, eventually giving in. "You're lucky you're everyone's type," she said, pulling Caitlyn in for a quick peck on the lips. "But you're not gonna get anything dressed like that," she said, looking Caitlyn up and down. "What do you mean?" Caitlyn asked, offended. She purposefully wore a tighter top with a skirt tonight. Without another word, Vi unbuttoned some more of Caitlyn's buttons and hiked her skirt up a little higher. "Violet!" Vi walked around Caitlyn, taking in every angle to make sure her outfit was good enough for Astrid. "You want answers, don't you?" Caitlyn sighed, rolling her eyes. "I cannot believe my girlfriend is pimping me out right now." Vi chuckled as she wrapped her arms around Caitlyn's waist from behind. "You're lucky I'm not the jealous type...because I know what's mine," Vi muttered, one of her hands slowly falling lower and lower down Caitlyn's body as the other hand tightened around her waist. Caitlyn leaned her head back on Vi's shoulder as her breathing got more and more ragged. Just as Caitlyn was about to turn around to kiss Vi, Vi pulled away teasingly. "Good luck, cupcake," she said, kissing Caitlyn on the cheek. "I'll be outside keeping guard," Vi added, smirking.

Hi. How are you?
Take your time. Don't be in a rush to write.
Levi Ackerman civilian x female reader captain
In which the reader here takes Levi's place in the plot.
The reader came from the underground with her two friends being taken by Erwin Smith.
Kuchel, Furlan and Isabel are alive and live as civilians along with Levi.
The reader is humanity's strongest soldier. Ackerman here is not the clan that suffered the experience 100 years ago, but rather the reader's clan.
The reader is shopping together with her squad. Levi and Kuchel have a tea shop. Levi admires the reader and would like to meet her, but he is shy. Petra ends up finding Levi's tea shop and tells the reader.
I leave the development up to you. I have so many ideas with this theme of the reader taking Levi's place that I don't know if you would accept it. But, don't feel obligated to do it.
Tumblr media
this is an interesting idea, i'll make a place for this on my masterlist if you decide to submit another one of these "reverse au" asks!
"levi." kuchel lays her hands on her son's shoulders, only then does his attention begin to shift. "sorry," said levi. "i wasn't paying much attention." his response earns a laugh from of his mother. her hands linger on him, the scent of her soap, old wax candles and herbs calm his senses.
"i can see that, what were you looking at?" she asks, her eyes scanning the direction in which levi seemed so entranced in. the town falls silent, onlookers stare on at the incoming soldiers. the wings of freedom dawning their uniforms, blood staining their hands. kuchel's smile fades a little, yet she keeps quiet.
"the survey corps?" she mutters, tasting the words on her tongue as if she had never said them before. levi points, his finger following in your direction. "they call her 'humanity's strongest soldier'." he acknowledges, staring at you, watching you stride. a fatigued and wearied walk that looks like it drains you of whatever energy you have left.
still you stand out from the rest, levi can't explain it but he can sense fortitude, stability and resilience from you. he imagines having to hear the distant screams, pleas and howls of the soldiers who didn't back it back—the ones who were eaten, crushed or worse.
"what does it take to be the strongest? i want to ask her myself. . ." levi whispers, a silent prayer to whoever will listen that maybe, he'll get to meet you. kuchel ponders her son's words in silence, turning away from him to see to the customers who pass by.
mornings, nights, afternoons, all pass by and you do too. every expedition is another step towards something better, or maybe that's something you just tell yourself.
"excuse me," velvet features and soft, blue, warm irises is what levi is met with this morning. the woman waves to get his attention, wearing the uniform he had gotten so familiar with. "hello." levi greets her, a towel in his right hand, a duster in his left. "what do you sell here?" the young lady asks, an uncertain expression twists her face.
"tea, black tea, earl grey, chai. any kind." levi's eyes don't meet hers, too busy scanning her uniform. the robust characteristics taking up all of his attention until she speaks again. "um, can i get the chai?" a smile stretches across her face. "it's for my captain, she's not picky."
"your captain?" levi inquires, passing the box of tea over the thin wooden counter. the soldier nods, exchanging the currency in her hand for the tea. when she turns around there are other soldiers stalling, most likely waiting for her. when levi glances over her shoulder, he sees your face again.
"your captain is. . .humanity's strongest?" levi already knows the answer however he asks anyway. "i've always wanted to meet her." levi never thought of himself as shy though the prospect of even being in your presence makes his stomach flutter with trepidation. the woman nods again, her smile brighter than before. "really? i'll call her over for you." levi can't object, he can't shy away—not now. this is his moment to finally speak to you.
"captain! over here!"

FIRST LOVE ISN'T ALWAYS THE BEST LOVE
Hyunjin x reader
Part-5 Surprise and Jealousy
Yeji,Y/n and Tess were walking in school after class as Tess and yeji are flirting playfully.Y/n feels someone looking at her and turns to look as she sees Felix standing there waving to her smiling she rubs her eyes not believing it as he just laughs"Omg wtf?!".she runs to him hugging him tightly"Felixxx" he hugs her back, his arms around her waist and hers around his neck.Y/n pulls back a little but still hugging him, "You jerk why didn't you tell me? I missed you!" She hits him lightly and Felix chuckles holding his chest for a dramatic reaction "really after I came all the way here?" She smiles pulling back from the hug. "Why the hell are you here though? How and is mom okay? How's she doing.
Felix pov- As I hug her tightly, my life feels like it just gained light again. Gosh I love her so much, she's so talkative tho, although I missed it. I missed her hitting and laughing, her smile and hair.Only if she knew how I'm not here for the job at all.. it's for her. How I had to convince her mom to let me come here although her mom said "ik u love her but don't disturb her studies" how I had to beg for 5 days straight to let me come here and see her daughter again. I did do a little emotional blackmailing tho... Ok but I'm not here for a job but for her. My love.. however who tf is gonna find a job now,god I'm doomed.
Y/n- "hello sir back to earth ik I'm beautiful, but don't stare so much and answer my questionss"
Felix laughs softly"calm down, she's great and I'm here for a job interview, if they take me then I'll stay here and if not. I will go back"
Y/n nods "ohhh wow"
"no because actually tell me about your job? Are they gonna give you a place to live? Where is it? How's the pay?
Felix assures her "dont worry, it's a interview for now but if I get in I'll definitely get paid good and they're supposed to pay enough for my rent so I'll be good"
Hyunjin who was watching from afar, the scene unfold, his jaw tightening. He had seen the way Y/n lit up when she spotted the guy-Felix, her so-called best friend. The one she talked about with so much affection.
He watched as they hugged, the closeness between them undeniable. Something churned in his chest, a feeling he didn't want to name.
Gathering himself, he strode over to them, keeping his expression neutral. "Y/n," he called, his voice even.
Y/n pulled back from Felix and turned, her eyes widening slightly. "Hyunjin."
Felix turned as well, his smile polite but curious.
"This is Felix," Y/n said, gesturing toward her best friend. "Felix, this is Hyunjin, my project partner and..." She hesitated. "Friend."
Felix offered his hand. "Nice to meet you, Hyunjin."
Hyunjin shook his hand briefly, his grip firm. "You too."
There was a moment of silence, the air between them thick with unspoken tension. Hyunjin's gaze flickered between Y/n and Felix, noting how comfortable they seemed together.
"Anyway," Y/n said, breaking the awkwardness, "I was just about to show Felix around. He's visiting for a few days."
"Right," Hyunjin said, his tone clipped. "Enjoy."
Y/n gave him a small smile, and Felix nodded politely before they walked away. Hyunjin watched them go, his hands clenching at his sides.
Felix noticed Hyunjin's reaction, and as they strolled around campus and greeted her friends, yeji and Tess who had a lot of fun seeing him after hearing so much about him...he couldn't shake the feeling that the other guy wasn't just a casual friend.
"You talk about him a lot?" Felix asked casually.
"Hyunjin?" Y/n said, glancing at him. "Not really. We argue more than we talk
But Felix couldn't help overthinking it. He saw the way Hyunjin had looked at Y/n, and it was a look Felix recognized all too well.
At her apartment at night now-
"come on let's get inside, She holds Felix's hand showing him around and finally to her room "and this is where I cry and dance at the same time". Felix laughs softly"yeah I know.. that's definitely you,he sits on the bed, laying down definitely tired of the journey
"okay..how's mom? Everything good? Why'd u leave her alone there?"
Felix sighs softly smiling"she's completely fine and healthy and I didn't want to come but she forced me saying I should come here for you and the job. She really misses you" Y/n softly smiles too"yeah I miss her a lot too, I hope she's okay.."
Felix replies"she's fine I swear she really badly forced me to be here i was supposed to come like 5 days ago"
She sits beside him , "gosh I missed you",Felix gets back up "I missed you too"he says smiling softly....
"Btw since yeounjun is at his sisters house for 2 days, you can sleep in his room okay? Don't u dare touch shit and only come to my bathroom and my room for stuff u need" Felix nods "yupp,I wanna sleep so bad gosh I didn't sleep more then 2 hours on the flight my back hurts"
Time skip
Over the next few days, Y/n couldn't stop smiling. Having Felix there felt like a dream. She introduced him to Yeji, Yeonjun, and her other friends, and they all seemed to get along effortlessly.
But at night, when she lay in bed, the insecurities crept in. She was supposed to be over him. Felix had always been her best friend, nothing more. She had told herself countless times that he would never see her the way she saw him.
Then why does my heart still race when I see him? she thought bitterly, staring at the ceiling. She felt pathetic, like a foolish girl clinging to a hope she had no right to hold onto.
But the moment she saw his face, all those doubts vanished. His smile, his laugh-it was everything she had missed. She couldn't help but wish he was here for her, not just for a job interview....
AND ONCE AGAIN YALL- I MADE THE CHAPTER SO LONGG wtvv thankyou so much for the reads and likes guys, if you have Wattpad (to my Tumblr readers) please check it out here too and votee. bangchan x gn! reader
summary: chan ends up calling you to keep him company at the studio while he works but what happens when you guys get snowed in? will it cause welled up feelings to be unraveled or will it be awkward. read to find out :)
warnings: kissing
word count: 2.2k
————————————————————————
Chan was sitting in the studio, staring blankly at his computer screen. He couldn't focus on the music he was supposed to be working on. He felt lonely, despite having his friends and family close by.
He picked up his phone, scrolling through his contacts until he found your name. He bit his lip nervously, contemplating whether to call you or not.
With a deep breath, he tapped on your name and hit the call button. As the phone rang, he felt a sudden wave of anxiety wash over him. He fidgeted with a pen on his desk, hoping you would pick up quickly.
You were in the middle of watching a movie when your phone suddenly rang. You checked the caller ID and saw that it was Bang Chan.
Curious, you picked up the call. "Hello?"
There was a brief silence on the other end of the line before Chan spoke up. His voice was slightly shaky, as if he was nervous.
"Hey, uh, sorry to bother you. Are you busy right now?"
You muted the TV and smiled at his apology.
"No, I was just watching a movie. What's up?"
Chan let out a sigh of relief on the other end.
"Good, because I need your help with something. I'm at the studio right now, working on a song, but I'm feeling kinda alone. Wanna come keep me company?"
You chuckled at his honesty.
"Sure, I can come over. I was getting bored anyway. I'll be there in about twenty minutes."
Chan's face lit up, a smile spreading across his features. He couldn't help but feel relieved that you agreed to come over.
"Great, thanks! See you soon. And, it’s cold, wear something warm."
You assured him that you would, and after exchanging a few more words, you ended the call. Quickly, you changed into something comfortable and grabbed a warm jacket before heading out to the studio.
When you arrived at the studio, you found Chan sitting at his desk, headphones on, working away at the computer. He looked up when he heard you enter and immediately stood up to greet you, his face brightening at the sight of you.
"Hey," he said, his usual bright smile appearing on his lips. "Thanks for coming. I really didn't want to be alone here tonight."
You smiled back at him, noticing the exhaustion in his eyes. You could tell he had been working hard all day.
"No problem. I'm happy to keep you company. You look like you could use a break, though."
Chan chuckled weakly, running a hand through his hair.
"Yeah, you're not wrong. I've been stuck on this song all day, and I can't seem to get it right. It's driving me crazy."
You glanced at his computer screen and saw the various files and programs open, each filled with different lyrics and sound files.
"It seems like you've been at it for a while. Maybe stepping away for a bit would actually help you," you suggested.
Chan sighed, acknowledging your words.
"You might be right, but every time I try to take a break, I feel guilty for not working. I just want to finish this song already."
You could sense the frustration in his voice and sympathized with him. You approached him and gently placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, it's okay to take a break. You can't push yourself too hard or you'll burn out. Why don't you show me what you have so far? Maybe I can offer a fresh perspective."
Chan glanced at you with a grateful look on his face. He appreciated your support and the way you seemed to understand what he was going through.
"Thank you," he said softy. "I'll show you what I have so far."
He sat down in his chair and pulled up a file on his screen, playing the unfinished song through his headphones.
As you listened to the track, you could hear the potential it held. It was a beautiful melody, but you could also sense the stress and pressure Chan was under. You could see his frustration growing as he messed up a few notes.
"So far, it's amazing," you told him gently. "But you seem so tense. Maybe you just need to loosen up a bit."
Chan ran a hand through his hair again, frustrated with his own performance.
"I know, I just can't seem to get it right, and it's driving me crazy. I want it to be perfect, but nothing I do seems good enough."
You squeezed his shoulder reassuringly.
"You're working too hard on this. Remember, perfect is subjective. You're allowed to make mistakes, you know. What you have so far is already incredible, and it's only going to get better once you stop being so hard on yourself."
As you and Bang Chan continued working on the song, you became so engrossed that neither of you noticed the heavy snowstorm getting outside the window.
After a while, you suddenly glanced up, noticing the thick snowflakes falling outside. You stood up and went closer to the window, watching the intense snowfall, suddenly realizing how bad the weather was getting outside.
Bang Chan looked up from the computer, seeing you standing by the window, and also noticed the intense snowfall.
"Damn, it's getting pretty bad out there," he remarked, standing up and walking over to you.
You nodded in agreement, still watching the storm outside. The wind was picking up, and the snow was falling heavily. You turned to Bang Chan, a bit worried.
"I don't think I'll be able to get home tonight. It's getting too dangerous to drive in this weather."
Bang Chan frowned slightly, his expression reflecting your concern. He hadn't considered the possibility of you being stuck in the studio due to the storm.
"You're right. It's not safe to drive in this snowstorm. You should probably stay here at the studio tonight."
You glanced around the studio, taking in the surroundings. There was a small couch in the corner of the room, and you knew there was a shower and a small kitchen in the back. Besides, you were happy to spend more time with Bang Chan.
"I guess I don't have much choice," you said with a small smile. "At least I've got good company."
Bang Chan chuckled, seeming relieved that you didn't mind staying over. He patted your shoulder gently.
"Well, you're welcome to stay here as long as you need. I'll make sure you're comfortable, don't worry."
Bang Chan led you to the small couch in the studio, where he had a stack of blankets and pillows sitting. He tossed a few blankets on the couch, making a makeshift bed.
You couldn't help but notice how sweet he was being, taking care of you and making sure you were comfortable.
Once the couch was made up, you sat down and wrapped yourself in the blankets. Bang Chan sat down beside you with a small smile.
"How's that? Comfortable enough?" he asked, his eyes scanning your face.
You nodded, feeling a sense of warmth from the blankets and from Bang Chan's concern. You smiled back at him, feeling grateful.
"Yes, it's perfect. Thank you, Chan. I really appreciate you letting me stay here tonight."
Bang Chan's eyes softened as he looked at you. He could see the sincerity in your eyes, and he felt a pang of something he couldn't quite define in his chest.
He reached out and touched your hair gently, tucking a strand behind your ear.
"Of course. I couldn't let you go out there in this storm. Your safety is more important to me than anything else right now."
A blush dusted your cheeks at his touch, the sweetness in his voice causing your heart to flutter. You could feel a sudden intimacy in the air between you two, the situation making it feel as if it was only the two of you in the world, stuck together in the studio for the night.
As you two settled into a comfortable silence, a thought seemed to cross Bang Chan's mind. He turned to you, his expression suddenly serious.
"Hey," he began, his voice soft. "Can I ask you something?"
You looked at him, your curiosity piqued. You nodded, signaling for him to continue.
"Of course, what is it?"
Bang Chan sighed, gathering his thoughts for a moment before proceeding. He turned his body towards you, his eyes fixed on your face.
"I've been thinking about something for a while now, and I just need to get it off my chest."
A sense of nervousness washed over you as you heard the seriousness in his voice. You shifted in your seat, turning to face him as well, giving him your undivided attention.
"Sure, you can ask me anything."
Bang Chan took a deep breath, as if steeling himself for what he was about to say.
"Sometimes, I feel like... I don't know how to describe it, but I feel like there's something more between us. Something more than just friendship."
You were taken aback by his words, your heart racing in your chest. You hadn't expected him to bring up something like that.
You looked at him, your mind racing, your feelings for him suddenly surfacing in your heart. Could it be that he felt the same way about you?
Bang Chan noticed your surprise and quickly backtracked, feeling uncertain.
"I-I'm sorry," he stuttered. "I shouldn't have said that. It's just, being here alone with you... it's making me feel things I've never felt before."
You couldn't help but feel a pang of hope in your chest. You took a deep breath, trying to steady your nerves.
"You don't need to apologize," you said softly. "I feel... something too. I can't explain it, but being here with you, it feels right. Like I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be."
Bang Chan's eyes widened at your response, his heart skipping a beat. He looked at you, searching your face for any sign of doubt, but all he could see was sincerity and affection in your eyes.
"Really?" he whispered, leaning closer to you. "You feel it too?"
You nodded, your heart racing in your chest. Your feelings for him were suddenly clear to you, and you knew you couldn't hide them any longer.
"Yes," you replied, your voice barely above a whisper. "I feel something for you, something strong and undeniable. I don't know what it is, but it's like my heart is drawn to you.”
Bang Chan's face softened at your words, relief and happiness washing over him. He reached out and touched your cheek, his touch gentle and tender.
"I've felt it too, this pull towards you. I just didn't know how to express it. But now, I know. I know what this feeling is, and it's so much more than just friendship."
You leaned into his touch, the warmth of his hand on your cheek making your heart flutter.
"Yes," you agreed. "It's more than just friendship. It's something deeper, stronger. I just didn't want to acknowledge it because I was afraid of ruining what we have."
Bang Chan shook his head, his eyes fixed on yours. He caressed your cheek with his thumb, his touch gentle and affectionate.*
"No," he said softly. "You could never ruin what we have. If anything, this feeling between us... it's only going to make us stronger."
Bang Chan's breath caught in his throat as he gazed at you, his eyes locked on your lips.*
He slowly leaned in, his body moving closer to you. You could feel his breath on your face, his proximity making your heart pound in your chest.*
He gently cupped your face in his hands, his touch sending shivers down your spine. He titled your head upwards, his lips millimeters away from yours.
But the moment your lips met, it was like a spark ignited between you two. The kiss grew deeper, more passionate, as Bang Chan's hands moved to the back of your neck, pulling you closer to him.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him even closer. Your bodies meshed together, your hearts beating in sync with each other. The kiss was a mixture of tenderness and desire, your feelings for each other pouring out into the kiss.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, you both pulled away, gasping for air. Your foreheads touched, and you could feel his breath on your face, ragged and uneven.
Neither of you spoke for a moment, both of you just basking in the aftermath of the kiss and the realization of your mutual feelings.
"I guess I just needed a good snowstorm and a locked studio to finally confess my feelings to you," he murmured, his breath warm against your skin. You chuckled softly, your heart fluttering at his words. You gently ran your fingers through his hair, enjoying the closeness between the two of you.
"I guess we were just in denial about our feelings for each other," you replied, your voice low and intimate.
Bang Chan pulled away slightly, his eyes meeting yours again. He took your hand in his, intertwining your fingers.
"I don't want to be in denial anymore," he said, his voice firm. "I want to be with you, officially. If you'll have me."
You felt your heart swell with happiness at his words. You gave his hand a squeeze and nodded, a smile spreading across your face.
"Of course I'll have you," you replied, unable to keep the joy out of your voice. "I want to be with you, too. Officially."

He doesn't really wear the cologne. He wears the one you bought for him. There's no comments about it, but he knows that you've noticed.
"My dad's birthday is next month." You cut your food so gently, with no rush at all. Dinners always last hours together, much to the chagrin of the staff. "Congratulations, you got him a watch."
Iida only eats slow when he's around you. There's no rush to the conversation, no rush to end the night.
"I'm surprised your parents know about me."
Your family is wealthy-- insanely so. Enough that he rarely offers to pay the bill anymore.
You chew for much too long, just to keep him baited. You swallow, you hum, you keep him hooked on your silence, on your timeline. The restaurant is quiet, with only the light din of distance conversation to cut through, but it never feels awkward. No, it's purposeful, like the pauses between stanzas in poetry.
"Well, I needed a plus one, so- are we going to order dessert?"
"We probably shouldn't," he says, as he reaches for the menu anyway. He'll have to run extra tomorrow because of it, but he doesn't mind. "I can't go, by the way."
Your expression somehow falls. "You have to go."
Iida jumps a bit. Usually, you don't care if he goes or not. You have other dates, other plans-
"Ask one of your other guys."
It sounds catty, but he's serious. The guy you see on business trips is hotter than Tenya is- you'll look nice together.
"Ugh, no," you scoff. "It has to be you."
"Really?"
He's more bewildered than anything. Sure, the two of you having been 'dating' but that's never meant much of anything. He thinks, anyway.
"You're smart enough to hold conversation, you're attractive enough that my mother won't judge." You take another slow bite. "And speaking of my mother, you have enough of a backbone that she won't eat you alive."
A sip of wine and a long sigh punctuate the time before you speak again.
"And you clearly didn't grow up wealthy, but you know enough that you're not going to embarrass me."
You always do that. The end of your statements are always stingers, meant to take the emotion and love out of the nicer things you've said. It's... defensive. Sometimes offensive.
"So, I'm just there so you aren't embarrassed," Iida says, even as he slides a hand over the table.
"Well, no." Your fingers slots into his. The squeeze you give him is gentle, soft, tender- "You're... kind. And quick. And... funny, when you aren't trying to be. Frankly, I'm... I..."
Exhaling, you pull your touch away, the brief moment between you gone.
"I just want you there, " you shrug. "Besides, I bought you a lovely sweater for the occasion and it just wouldn't look right on anyone else."
Sure, Iida thinks. It's about the sweater.
"If I go," he draws out the question. "Will you meet my family next?"
Your eyebrow quirks up. "I'm surprised they know about me."
"My mom thinks you're too bossy."
That makes you laugh a bit too loud, head tilted back with joy. The room rings with it.
"I am too bossy," you say. "But you like that."
He reaches his hand out again, this time taking yours.
"I do."
tell us what else you're thinkin about finance! reader and iida!!
he's soooo smitten but he loves giving her a little resistance. just enough to let her know that he thinks of himself as an equal. just enough to make her work for it.
"Wear the blue suit tonight." you tell him as you pass him in the hall. "Brings out your eyes better."
He stops and so do you, eyeing him up and down with a rather stern express.
"What are you wearing?" Iida says.
"Does it matter?"
"It does to me."
Your eyes tick up and down again. "Dark red."
"I'll pick up a maroon suit then."
"Who said I wanted to match?"
"I want to."
Your tongue runs over the front of your teeth in an attempt to hide your grin. Oh, you like a fight, you like controlled dissonance. Iida knows how to push back in the ways that make you excited.
"Fine. Then I'm going to wear that lipstick you hate. The one that smears." The one that's stained his bedspread and pillows.
Iida gives a one shouldered shrug. "And I'll be wearing the cologne."
You turn on your heel and click your tongue against your teeth.
"Fine."
"Fine."
He lets you slink off a couple steps, just to watch how your hips sway as you walk, then he calls your name. You don't turn around, but your step does slow.
"I'm excited to celebrate our anniversary."
You don't reply, but he swears you must be smiling.

Hii! Hewwo!!! Finally got the courage and an idea to get here haha. First of all I wanted to thank you for Tongues and Teeth. Like, really, big thanks. This fic got me through a pretty bad illness, and I found myself waiting for every new chapter. And, well, of course, it was an indirect reason for me even being here... I really enjoyed reacting on your fic in tags, and that, in fact, gave me the courage and impuls to post my own stuff. As for a prompt... Slay the Princess is happening at night, but rarely someone appreciated the stars. But they still were there. And in post-Tongues and Teeth they are there, too. I just thought it would be interesting to touch some voices' feelings and opinions when they are just stargazing. It could be about any voice really, or any group of voices, maybe you'll even explore them all - I would love to see it anyway :> Have a great day!!!
(Oh my God,you're so sweet!Thank you for liking my fic that much-I never expected people to actually be invested in my story.I'm really sorry that you were going through that illness, but I'm so touched that my story helped you get through it.I always love seeing your reaction to my fics-it's one of the things I look forward too!I love your idea and I hope you enjoy this, and that you have an amazing day!)
(This is post Tongues and Teeth)
It wasn't often that Contrarian liked to be still. He much preferred to be doing something that pissed one of the others-mainly Oppy-off.He liked keeping everyone on their toes, not knowing what he was about to do next-and no,he's definitely still not bitter from Oppy calling him predictable. Why would you think that?
But tonight,Contrarian was honestly happy to just relax with his flock, and stargaze with them all.
He couldn't remember who's idea it had been, probably one of the softer ones like Hero or Smitten, but eventually they all found themselves sitting out on the roofs of their bird houses at night, gazing up at the stars.
Contrarian never noticed how pretty the night sky was.Or did he ever even get the chance to,back in the Construct?Either way,it was nice to just chill out, take it easy, and look up at the stars-
"I don't see the appeal of this."
Well, not everyone felt the same way.
Contrarian chuckled, looking down at Cold, who was lying on his back and staring up at the sky in boredom.Cold hadn't seen the point in stargazing, but had still allowed Contrarian to drag him up here, and he had been silent ever since.
Contrarian had a feeling that Cold wouldn't particularly like this one activity, even if everyone had come out.He leaned back on his hands and asked,"No?You don't think the stars are interesting and cool to look at?"
"They're lights in the sky."
"Yeah, but do you think they're pretty?"Cold hummed in thought, before looking away as he replied,"You could certainly call them mesmerizing, if you were poetic enough."Contrarian snorted, knowing for a fact that Smitten has definitely described the stars as exactly that before.
"Mesmerizing doesn't equal interesting though," Cold quickly added, and Contrarian sighed, sitting up properly to tuck his knees under his chin."Yeah,I thought you'd say that,"he said, hoping to hide his disappointment in his voice.
He wasn't sure if Cold caught it or not,but he shrugged and looked back up at the sky."It was nice for a few minutes, but it doesn't make me feel much."
"Well not everything has to be about feeling something grand and overwhelming."He caught the flash of surprise on Cold's face, and then Contrarian's smile fell into a regretful frown.
This felt like a weird conversation to have, especially considering that himself and Cold were the known mischief makers of the flock.Contrarian just liked to do things that were fun,and his realm of fun had gotten a whole lot bigger now that they had their own bodies.
Cold was in that same boat,in which he could freely got out and find things to do that could potentially get rid of that numbness in his chest. The two of them spent most of their days discovering every fun thing that they couldn't before, not with that annoying Echo keeping them trapped.
He glanced back down at Cold, only to find him staring up at the sky with an empty look in his eyes. To anyone else, you would think that that was just Cold's natural expression, but Contrarian's been around him long enough to pick up the slight bitterness in his eyes, and he immediately felt bad.
He knew Cold had trouble with going about life without wanting something to make him feel something. He knew that in some ways-getting their own bodies had been harder to achieve that, because now Cold was responsible for everything that his body did.
What he chose to do,to hear,to experience, was all up to him,and sometimes his body and mind couldn't handle it.But the only reason it was difficult, was because the Decider wasn't here anymore. It was easier to want to feel something new,and block out anything that he deemed unimportant, when the situation involved whether to slay another person or not,and the horrifying consequences of it-all while hiding behind another greater being.
Contrarian sighed, then looked around at the other houses near them, and said,"I know this isn't your usual brand of fun and excitement."Cold just hummed in response, still not looking at him."But I think taking a moment to chill and relax is nice too."
"Easy for you to say,"Cold said,"you can be entertained by anything, and boredom can be easily fixed. You're not as...rigid as I am."Contrarian shrugged, looking back up at the stars."You never know until you try."
Cold huffed in quiet amusement, and Contrarian watched as his wings twitched and spread out and in-a surefire way to tell that Cold was getting restless, and was about to leave.
But Contrarian didn't want him to go.He wanted to be able to enjoy the loud and the quiet moments with Cold, without Cold feeling like it was pointless.
So he squinted up at the starry sky, until he grinned playfully, scooting closer and leaning down to whisper into Cold's ear.He pointed up at the sky and quietly said,"You know,if you squint, you can kinda see Skeptic's grumpy face in the sky."
Cold was confused for a few seconds, before he chuckled lightly, and Contrarian grinned in victory. Cold now had a soft smile on his face as he gazed up at the sky."You'll turn anything into a joke, won't you?"
Contrarian giggled, leaning away from the other bird now."Yeah, why not?Nothing's fun if everything's so serious all the time."
"But eventually even clowns get tired at telling jokes all the time."
Contrarian froze at Cold's empty words, before quickly turning to face him,and his heart twisted in guilt-something that didn't happen a lot,at the subtle sad look on Cold's face.
He thought Contrarian was getting bored of his own ways?He thought that stargazing meant that he was getting dull?
Contrarian would be offended if he didn't think this wasn't deeply hurting Cold,no matter how much the icy one would try to deny it.He thought that he was losing the one flockmate that could understand the way he thought and operated, leaving him an outcast in his own flock.
That wouldn't do.
Contrarian sighed loudly, then casually threw an arm over Cold's shoulders, which meant that his body was half bent down to even manage that, and even then, his arm was actually just circling the top of Cold's head.
He stayed in that position for a few minutes, until Cold eventually asked,"What are you doing?"
"I'm just-taking the moment in."
There was a small pause, before Cold then asked, "What do you mean?"
"Well,"Contrarian began,"it's such a nice night out, and it's rare that we're all doing something that isn't eating or having a meeting.I just wanted to take this moment in."
"Why would you bother with 'taking it in'?You could have moments like these all the time, and they'll just replace the last memory."
"Yeah,"Contrarian agreed,"but nothings gonna beat the first time you went stargazing with your whole flock." There was a fondness in Contrarian's voice that had Cold looking up at him curiously, but Contrarian took that moment to look up and around at the rest of his flock.
"There's just something-special,about moments like these, and it makes you want to stay there for as long as possible."
Contrarian's gaze went straight to Hero, who was giggling as he watched Hunted preen Stubborn's wings, and the preening appeared to be making Stubborn sleepy,to the point that he was struggling to keep his eyes open while laying on his chest. Hero smiled at them fondly, and started to pet the feathers on Stubborn's head.
Contrarian smiled at the sight, then his gaze drifted to the far left of them, where Smitten and Skeptic seemed to be utterly transfixed by the display of stars in the sky.Contrarian watched as Smitten excitedly pointed up at the sky, blurting out what was sure to be some sappy, poetic mess, looking over at Skeptic with pure glee in his eyes.
Skeptic actually looked quite calm and relaxed in this moment, matching Smitten's passion with a more calmer enthusiasm, gesturing up at the night sky and talking just as much as his counterpart was.
It was funny to imagine the conversation they must be having-a mix of lovey-dovey mush and innocent curiosity-but it also sounded very sweet.
"What's the point of dragging out something special?"Cold asked,"It's just going to make the moment boring more quickly."Contrarian made a noise of uncertainty."I don't think so.There's always something interesting to pick out."
He glanced over at their right, where Paranoid and Oppy were huddled close, talking quietly to themselves-probably the most unexpected and fascinating friendship to come out of this whole thing.
Paranoid-or Jitters,as Oppy loved to call him-was hugging himself for comfort, and had an anxious look in his eye as he spoke to Oppy, who was giving him his full attention, completely ignoring the illuminating sky above them.
Then Oppy smiled,in a way that Contrarian knew was hard for the other to easily do without fear, and softly draped his wing around Paranoid's shoulders, who's tense body instantly melted at the gesture, face wiped clean of stress,as he instead smiled and gave Oppy a grateful look.
Contrarian's attention was quickly snatched by the duo not too far away from them-Broken and Cheated.Broken had tucked his knees under his chin and looked to be in complete awe at the stars above him,and Contrarian wondered if he had found a new love to worship and submit to.
But then he saw the way that Cheated's attention was in no way on the stars-but instead on Broken. He was resting his arm on his knee, his cheek in his hand, and he had the most fond and lovestruck look that Contrarian has ever seen-that he truly believed that Cheated could give Smitten a run for his money.
He giggled and finally looked back down at Cold, who didn't seem so upset anymore, but instead was struggling to understand Contrarian's words."I don't get it,"he finally admitted, and Contrarian made a quick, sweeping gesture at their flock and said,"I'm just saying that-maybe this moment isn't for right now."
"What?"
Contrarian sat up properly again, and Cold was quick to copy him, determined to understand. Contrarian looked back up at the twinkling stars and said,"Maybe this moment is purely to look back on,to remember the soft times that made you happy.Maybe-maybe these are moments to make you feel warm in the future, whatever that may be."
Contrarian quickly glanced at Cold, suddenly feeling embarrassed at having talked so much without it sounding like a joke."I-I just like the thought of that as well.At being able to sit still, and still have good memories to look back on,with the rest of you weirdos."
He refused to look back at Cold, just waiting for the other to poke fun at or dismiss what he said.He couldn't decide what would be worse.
But then Cold hummed softly, scooting closer to nudge him with his wing."I suppose,"he quietly said, and Contrarian risked a quick look,"that you can sort of see Skeptic's grumpy face."
Contrarian froze, before he burst out laughing, and he even heard Cold's light laughter join in.
It ended being a perfect memory for Contrarian to cherish forever.
